Bill concentrates his practice in advising companies in the areas of anti-trust, mergers & acquisitions, government affairs, real estate, bankruptcy and litigation. Among the clients he has represented include BP Amoco, United Airlines, WR Grace, TWA, Conseco Finance Corporation, the Fleming Companies, AT&T, PepsiCo, and Verizon. His clients are primarily technology oriented companies, health care ventures, licensed professionals, and entrepreneurs.  He has also represented private corporations and individuals in many commercial areas.  His representation has been on a national and international basis.

Mr. Hurley has experience as a General Counsel/Director of Government Affairs director of a trade association in the food & beverage industry and deputy chief of staff for a former U.S. Representative.  Bill has extensive litigation and bankruptcy experience as an attorney for national firms such as Kirkland & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig. 

Mr. Hurley received his B.A. for the University of Illinois and his J.D. from DePaul University.  Bill volunteers as a tutor for disadvantaged grade school students and has been an active volunteer for St. Michael’s Catholic Church on the North Side of Chicago.

Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, in 1991.  Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Illinois, majoring in Economics in 1988.

Mr. Hurley has been counsel to United Airlines, TWA, Conseco Finance, and WR Grace in bankruptcy related litigation.  Bill has represented creditors and debtors in all aspects of bankruptcy matters.  These matters have included adversary preference actions, commercial cases within the bankruptcy litigation, and claim objections.

Bill’s transactional experience has included providing merger & acquisition advice on anti-trust matters such Hart-Scott-Rodino requests.  Bill has advised on clients on corporate structuring.  In real estate, he has advised on purchases, sales, easements, and finance matters.  Mr. Hurley has also advised employers and employees on matters such as contract enforcement, non-competes and trade secrets.

Mr. Hurley has advised clients on many governmental affairs issues on the state and federal levels.  This has included lobbying, regulatory compliance, tax compliance, and governmental approval of corporate transactions.
