Katherine Imp received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Maryland College Park. She focuses her practice primarily on entertainment, corporate, and intellectual property matters, and is licensed to practice law in both California and Illinois. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Imp’s entertainment work includes drafting and negotiating film production contracts, location agreements, personal appearance releases, independent contractor agreements, and intellectual property licensing agreements.  Her transactional experience includes the planning and drafting of partnership, shareholder, & operating agreements, offering documents (primarily for clients' early stage financing), non-disclosure agreements, publishing agreements, promissory notes, letters of intent, purchase agreements, vendor contracts, and other corporate documents relating to corporate clients' sales, mergers, and offerings. The clients Ms. Imp works with include corporations and limited liability companies in various industries, including publishing, entertainment, sports, manufacturing, advertising, food, professional services, and financial, as well as not-for-profit organizations.  Ms. Imp’s work has resulted in her being named to the 2014 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list (top 2.5% of IL lawyers under 40).

Ms. Imp’s interest in entertainment law stems from her love of film. In 2010, Ms. Imp completed law school a semester early to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail (2,178.3 miles) from Georgia to Maine and, at the same time, produced a documentary film about the journey. The film received critical acclaim and media coverage from numerous outlets, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Courier Post, Chicago Tribune, and The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.

During law school, Ms. Imp was the Associate Editor of the Illinois Law Review and President of the Women's Law Society. She also clerked for Judge Arnold Blockman, Champaign County Circuit Court, in Urbana, Illinois.
